What We Believe

Doctrinal Foundation and Institutional Faith Commitments

Metro East Bible College and Seminary

Metro East Bible College and Seminary is a Christ-centered, faith-based institution committed to providing biblical, theological, and ministerial education grounded in historic Christian orthodoxy. The following doctrinal affirmations constitute the official theological framework governing all academic programs, instructional methodologies, institutional policies, and faculty standards.

All trustees, administrators, faculty, and students are expected to uphold these beliefs as essential to the mission and identity of this institution.

1. Authority of Scripture

This institution affirms that the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God, infallible in its original manuscripts, and the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, ethics, and Christian practice. Scripture is foundational to curriculum development, instructional delivery, and theological evaluation across all academic programs.
2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 119:105; 2 Peter 1:21

2. Doctrine of God (The Trinity)

This institution affirms belief in one eternal, self-existent God who exists in three distinct yet co-equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This Trinitarian understanding is central to Christian theology and informs all doctrinal instruction.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14

3. Doctrine of Christ

This institution affirms that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died as the substitutionary atonement for humanity’s sin, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, presently reigns in glory, and will return visibly and victoriously.
John 1:1, 14; Colossians 1:15–20; Hebrews 4:15; Revelation 19:11–16

4. Doctrine of the Holy Spirit

This institution affirms that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates the believer, indwells and empowers the Church, sanctifies believers in holiness, and seals them until the day of redemption.
John 16:7–8; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 1:13–14

5. Doctrine of Humanity

This institution affirms that humanity was created in the image of God with inherent dignity, value, and purpose. Through the fall, humanity became sinful and spiritually separated from God, requiring divine redemption.
Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12

6. Doctrine of Salvation

This institution affirms that salvation is entirely the work of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone, apart from human merit or works. Salvation includes justification, sanctification, and glorification, accomplished through Christ’s redemptive work.
Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5–7; Romans 5:1

7. Doctrine of the Church

This institution affirms that the Church is the Body of Christ, called to worship God, proclaim the gospel, disciple believers, and serve communities. The Church is expressed through local congregations under the authority of Christ.
Ephesians 4:11–13; Acts 2:42–47

8. Ordinances

This institution affirms baptism and the Lord’s Supper as biblical ordinances instituted by Christ, practiced as acts of obedience and remembrance within the life of the Church.
Romans 6:3–4; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26

9. Doctrine of Last Things (Eschatology)

This institution affirms the bodily return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, final judgment, and the eternal destiny of all humanity, either in eternal life or eternal separation from God.
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 21–22

10. Institutional Mission and Purpose

This institution affirms that the Great Commission defines its educational mission: to equip believers to make disciples of all nations through biblical teaching, spiritual formation, and ministry preparation empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 1:8

Institutional Compliance Statement

Metro East Bible College and Seminary operates as a faith-based religious institution. Its doctrinal commitments are integral to its educational objectives, governance, faculty hiring, curriculum standards, and student formation. The institution respectfully asserts its right to religious freedom in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations governing faith-based educational organizations.
